Back to work
Back to work
I was rather alarmed when I recently looked back at my last Kids of Integrity blog post. That was back in August of last year! Wow, time has flown by. I can assure you, however, that I have a good excuse.
On December 3, our family welcomed a new family member – my beautiful son, Finn! Since adding a second child to our family, our life has turned upside down. Late-night feedings, diapers, spit-up, doctor’s visits… it’s been a whirlwind.
Not only am I adjusting to having a newborn again, but I’m also adjusting to life with two children. I’m a full-time stay-at-home mom now and my days sometimes seem like a blur – especially now that I’m trying to learn to balance both of my children’s needs.
One need that has sadly fallen by the wayside is my daughter’s spiritual growth. I haven’t made much of an effort to keep her focused on growing more like Jesus, or even simply learning who He is. We still say our prayers, go to church and Sunday school and read a toddler devotional book (when I remember); we even have discussions about Jesus sometimes. But I know we need to get back to intentionally teaching her what it means to live with Christ-like character.
So here and now, I declare: we are getting back to work! I’ve been searching through the KOI lessons and I think we’ll begin afresh with the lesson on Honesty. If you’ve tried this lesson and have any tips to share, let me know!
