Kids talk with God

Kids talk with God

Just as you taught your children  language skills through continual interaction, you can teach your children to have constant dialogue with God by leading them in brief but frequent prayers throughout the day.

These sample prayers will help you lead your kids in asking God to enable them to be peace-makers who get along well with others. If your kids are ready to begin formulating their own prayers, see the verses under “Scripture-guided prayer for children” for inspiration.

Sample prayers

Dear God, I don’t feel like living in peace with ________ right now. I need Your Holy Spirit to help me! Amen.

Dear God, please give us peace like a river in our home (Isaiah 48:18). Amen.

Dear God, help me to remember that it is good and pleasant when brothers (and sisters) live together in unity (Psalm 133:1). Amen.

Dear God, I ask You would send Your Holy Spirit to help me want to live at peace with ________. Amen.

Dear God, I feel like paying back the wrong that was done to me. Please help me be quick to forgive and to do something kind to this person instead (1 Peter 3:8-9). Amen.
