Hi, I’m Julie with Focus on the Family Canada. I’m so excited to introduce you to the brand-new Kids of Integrity blog!
I’m a mom of an energetic toddler, and I know all too well how busy life can be when you’re trying to juggle marriage, parenting, career, household duties, church involvement, friendships . . . and simply, life. However, amidst the busyness, there are still those moments when I gaze at my daughter and my heart swells with hope that she will grow to be a godly woman of Christ. I know it’s my responsibility as her parent (along with my husband) to teach her what’s right and wrong, to show her what kind of person God wants her to be, and to instill in her the lessons she needs to grow into that godly woman I dream she will be.
So, yes, it can be hard to find time in our schedules for anything “extra” – even something as important as teaching Christ-like character to our kids. And that’s exactly why Focus on the Family Canada has developed Kids of Integrity. We hope that the materials will inspire you, encourage you and equip you – not to mention cut out a lot of the extra prep work – so you’ll be able to carve out those valuable teaching moments.
If you like stories, if you like meeting other like-minded families, and if you want to hear some real-life Kids of Integrity experiences, you’ve come to the right place! On this blog, we plan to introduce you to two real-life families who are about to embark on their first Kids of Integrity adventure. We’ll be updating the blog with their stories, tips, photos and experiences. Feel free to share your own comments and suggestions here as well!
In the meantime, we hope you’ll check out a lesson or two and consider following along with your own family.
Hi Julie - I think this program looks fantastic and would like to ask your opinion - Do you think it could work as a curriculum for a Mom's Small Group study? I am thinking of hosting a morning play time (for the toddlers) in my home and working in as much of the KOI content for the Moms (to take home and do with their kids) while we support each other in raising our kids.
Do you know of anyone who currently runs such a group, or do you think I'm crazy for attempting to have a home study group that includes toddlers? I am aware of MOPS, but this is a format where the kids are looked after separately and this isn't an option for our group right now.
I would value and very much welcome your input.
Thanks!
Hi, Cheri! Thanks so much for your question. We haven't tried anything specifically like this before (a group study that includes moms and toddlers), but it sounds like a great idea! KOI is meant to be a flexible tool, and we've heard of it being used in a number of ways, including as part of a homeschool curriculum, a Sunday school program, a missions trip activity for kids, and, of course, by average moms and dads using KOI within their daily family lives. The only possible challenge might be the age range of the toddlers, as KOI is aimed at kids aged three to ten, but I'm not sure what exact ages your group would include. It's possible that you could also simplify components of the lessons to make them easier to grasp for littler ones.
If you have any further questions or feedback, please don't hesitate to contact us! You can comment on the blog, on Facebook or send an email to us at letters@fotf.ca. Also, we'd love to hear how your group progresses if you end up giving this a try!
Thanks again, and God bless!

Last night when I was reviewing a movie on Plugged In .com I noticed this small KIO Box advert and so I clicked on it.
Boy was I surprised to see the quality of the content on the site and I quickly called my wife to have a look as well. Today I've downloaded all the lessons to look at them individually and we are excited to start this within our own home.
Another reason why I'm excited for this is that this material is for free. Most good quality material like this you are expected to pay. And living in South Africa the exchange rate is not on our side and most material therefore cost too much for us to purchase.
Once we decide on a topic we will keep you informed as how KIO is going in South Africa!
Hi, Brenton! Thanks so much for sharing with us what it means to you to find this free resource for parents. We're excited to be able to touch families through Kids of Integrity (even all the way in South Africa!). We really hope you enjoy the materials and have fun with your kids working on the lessons. Please keep us posted on your progress!
Blessings to you,
Julie, Kids of Integrity
I just wanted to say thank you very much for this AMAZING program to help me to raise godly children. I have been barking orders and I hate to admit that I am the mom that says. " because I said so." now I have the tools to say Because God says so.
I also want to show them where my faults are. And by reading the self control one...Well They are going to notice that I need help in this area too.
Thank you for the tools that are going to empower change in all of us.
God is good all the time!
This is such great material...I see SUCH potential here. Would I be allowed to adapt it for use as a summer Sunday School Curriculum? I think the kids would have a blast and the parents would be ever so grateful!
Sabina, great question! Yes, you're welcome to adapt the Kids of Integrity materials for a Sunday school class. Let us know how it goes!

And Pastor Kevin, thanks so much for helping spread the word about Kids of Integrity! We pray it will be a blessing to many families.
